Budget Car Hire, as the name suggests, is one of the leaders in cheap international car hire, and their branch in Cardiff is no exception. The problem with getting a car hire from Budget upon landing at Cardiff Airport is that the Budget branch is actually the other side of Cardiff to the Airport, meaning an expensive commute to pick up your hire car. However, if you get in touch with Budget they may well be willing to drop the car off for you at the airport as they will be glad for your custom – a charge may be applied because of the distance to the airport but it may well be free given that they don’t have a branch nearby.

If you do need somewhere closer to Cardiff International Airport though, you may want to try a different company. Europcar, Hertz and Avis all have branches on site at the airport, but they’re not likely to offer the same discount rates that Budget car offer. These particular places pride themselves on their central locations within cities and airports, which means costly rent, so they have to charge you more for the convenience. The choice is simply – either pay more and get a car hire direct from the airport, or pay less and hopefully get it delivered or make your own way to the branch.
