I seem to be spending a lot of time in departure lounges lately. Every flight that I pick seems to be delayed, it does not seem fair. It was only last week that I was in Cardiff airport departures. I was a bit nervous about this trip because it had been organised at the last minute and I had not had time to organise everything that I needed to. I therefore still had to sort out car hire, accommodation and tickets to the event that I was attending when I arrived. I was hoping that my flight would be on time, so that I could get it all done as soon as possible.
It felt like I was waiting for days in the departure lounge as I kept running through all the jobs that I needed to do in my head. I was trying to remember what accommodation was near to the airport and worrying that the later I got the more likely it would be full. I would then have to get my hire car and drive to my final destination and find accommodation then, by which time it could be getting quite late at night. I started to worry that perhaps I wouldn’t find anywhere to stay at all and would have to spend the night in the car. It was all pretty silly really but with nothing else to do but worry, I found that my nails were bitten right off by the time I landed at the other end.

After you’ve had a long flight, the last thing you want upon arrival is to be confronted with a complex arrivals room or one which fails to provide you with the essentials. This is certainly not the case at Cardiff Airport, where everything you could ever need when you get there is available. Perhaps you have not brought any of the British currency with you. This would be disastrous; with no money you can’t buy food, let alone get to where you want to go. However, in the arrivals area, there are numerous bureau de change offices where you can get the currency that will allow you to get by in Britain.
Another excellent feature of the arrivals area at Cardiff Airport is the provision made for transport. Throughout the arrivals lounge are a variety of car hire companies that endeavour to provide you with quick and helpful service and, most importantly, a vehicle. However, this is not the only way that you can travel and at Cardiff Airport there are more services available to you. Apart from the bus service that runs every half hour from the airport, there are many taxi companies dotted throughout the arrivals area which are more than happy to book you a taxi to wherever you want to go to. If you do have to wait for a while, though, do not despair! There are many places for you to catch a bite to eat or sit and read while you wait for the time to explore Cardiff.
