Everyone loves a day at the seaside, and when you have kids you only have to mention the word and that’s all they want to do – you could be in paradise and say the word and all other activities must be put on hold. The weather hadn’t been particularly good since we’d flown into Cardiff; we always seem to jinx it wherever we go, and the kids were getting very bored. There are only so many times you can play board games before they get fed up and want to let off some steam. So, at the first glimpse of sunshine we made the decision to visit the beach.

Now, imagine how difficult this would be without the use of a car. We’d have to check the train times (by which time the sun may be gone), carry all our beach stuff to and from the station whilst keeping control of the excited kids, carry all the stuff plus the wet clothes all the way back to the station and have to try and keep the kids awake so we don’t miss the stop because we’re asleep. But because we hired a car on arrival, we avoided all this extra hassle. We were able to throw all the gear in the car, drive to the beach and back with the kids able to sleep in the back seats. The beach was made more fun but the fact that we didn’t have to worry about time restraints and we only have the car to thank for that.

However, how you look is important too so make sure that you dress smartly and appropriately and if you are in any doubt phone up and as if there is a dress code. Lastly make sure that you are on time. If you feel that public transport is too unreliable then make sure you hire a car, if you can drive and do not have a car of your own, so that you can be in full control of the time you arrive there on the day.
